BAND LAUNCHES 2026 CALENDAR
The band has launched its 2026 calendar, which this year is titled ‘Notes Along the Way’. The calendar’s strapline is ‘Playing in amazing places, celebrating great events’, and the photos capture some of the highlights of the band’s year.
In addition, an exhibition of the photos featured in the calendar is now on display at The Loft in the town’s Peffer Place.
The calendar’s range of photos include a number of shots taken by professional photographer Nick Callaghan during the band’s visit to Aubigny-sur-Nère (Haddington’s twin town in France), where they played at the Fêtes Franco-Écossaises, a spectacular event which attracts tens of thousands to the historic town.
Other shots include the band playing at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh; the VE day commemoration in Haddington; Haddington Festival’s fancy dress parade; the visit of the Auld Alliance (Aubigny-sur-Nère) Pipe Band to Haddington in August, when the two bands performed together; and two of the band’s drummers at Edinburgh Castle where they performed at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Provost John McMillan officially launched the calendar, and the exhibition at The Loft will be on show until the end of January. All funds raised from this calendar will be used to pay for tuition, instruments, uniforms, and other initiatives which help the band to develop and make a positive contribution to the town and the community.
The calendar is now on sale for £7.50 at various shops and other outlets locally, including The Loft. It can also be ordered online by emailing calendar@haddingtonpipeband.co.uk.
